12-10-2007, The murder trial begins for the person who murdered Deana Page (great-granddaughter, Marguerite's grand-daughter, Dell's daughter). Theresa (Terrie), her sister will be at the trial everyday and will keep everyone informed of the daily events.

12-14-07 Rita Hinkle was convicted of Capital Murder for the murder of Deana Page Nov, 3 2006. She will serve life in prison without parole.
The Jefferson County jury took less than half-hour to convit Hinkle, 50 of killing Deana Page with a .38 revolver that she reloaded twice.
Hinkle and Page lived together as partners for three years. But about two months before the shooting, Hinkle had moved out of the couple's home.
Page and her ex-husband had reunited, and Hinkle bought the .38 two days before the murder. On Nov. 3, 2006 the two women met in the parking lot of a busy shopping center off of Center Point Parkway.
Grover Pope testified that he saw Hinkle arguing with someone inside a red pickup truck as he pulled into the lot. He sensed trouble.
Hinkle leaned into the truck and steadily fired 6 shots. She looked around, dropped the shell casings, then reached into her van to reload the pistol. She fired all those bullets, and repeated the process through another round.
"She just turned around and looked clamly." Pope testified. "She was never in a hurry.....The ground was littered with cartridges."
After the shoothing, Hinkle tossed the gun in her van and drove off.
Steve and Gail Davis also witnessed the shooting while looking for a parking space. They followed Hinkle's van, while calling 911 and directed the police to intercept her.
As the police cuffed Hinkle she told them she had shot her lover.
"She said it in a weird voice," Deputy Eric Brown testified. "It was eerie."
In the vans front seat was a note that Hinkle had written, " I would like to be cremated instead of being buried. If I can't have her no one can especially him."
Hinkle told the jurrors that she blanked out just after Page admitted that she was sleeping with her ex-husband.
She said she did not remember shooting Page and she did not intend to kill her. Hinkle said "I couldn't honestly sit here and tell you why I shot her because I don't know myself."
Under cross-examination by prosecutor Jim Neil, Hinkle admitted the circumstances, surrounding the break up. She said it left her feeling angry, hurt and betrayed. But she kept repeating that she did not remember the shooting.
"You don't want to remember, so you can get out of it," Neil said during one of several testy exchanges.
At one point, Neil used a projector to show autopsy photos of Page. Earlier, a pathologist had testified that 11 out of the 15 shots were potenially fatal.
"When you shot her 10 times in the head, you intended to kill her - look at it," Neil said, referring to the photo of Page's body."
"I don't want to," Hinkle replied, her voice growing louder as she continued. "I'm not going to look at it and you as a DA can't make me
