1. Changing your password - Go to "My Account" page. The change password is at the bottom under the account function.
2. Change/Add Profile Picture - Go to "My Account" page. Change/Add Profile picture is at the top under "view my page". Click change/add profile - click the browse button to find your picture on your computer or CD - click update image.
This profile photo can be a picture of anything but preferablely one of yourself. Don't have a picture of yourself or don't want to use one of yourself, then why not find an image that expresses your personality. Here is one way to find an image and use it for your profile picture. Go to google or yahoo search. At the top is images. Click images. Put something in the search box that may fit your personality, such as flowers or purple flowers. You will be amazed how many purple flowers will appear. Scroll through the images till you see the flower want. Right click on the image and select "save picture as". I usually save it to my desktop so I can find it easily. Now you have a picture you can use as your profile picture.***Note all photos have to go through an approval procees. It may take up to 24 hours before your photo is approved***
3. Change Education - Go to "My Account" page - Edit Profile.
4. Change High School or College - Go to "My Account" page - Edit Profile.
5. Change Employment - Go to "My Account" page - Edit Profile.
6. Change About Me - Go to "My Account" page - Edit Profile
7. Privacy control/Viewable by - Go to "My Account" page - Edit Profile
8. Customize/design your page - Go to "My Account" page - Click on "Customize Design". On this page we have several backgrounds, foreground and color schemes to select from. Pick one that you feel best fits your personality.
9. Blogs - Go to "My Account" page - Articles - Click on "New Blog"
10. Photos Albums - Go to "My Account" page - Click on "New Photo Album". Give your Photo Album a Title (My family, my pets etc.). Fill in the description box. Select who this album will be viewable by. Then select - Create Album. ***Only click create album once****. Once you have created an album you can then add photos to your album
11. Adding photos - To add photos, you must create a photo album first. See the above answer #10 for how to create a Photo Album. Once you have created a photo album go to "my account" page - Click on the name of the photo album you created - Scroll down the page till you see "Add new photo" - click the "browse" button and find your photo on your computer or CD - Once selected, the picture will begin uploading automatically. *** Once the upload proccess is complete the photo will appear at the bottom of this screen. DO NOT move away from this page until the pictures appears or the process will not be completed.
12. Audio Sets - Go to "My Account" page - Click on "New Audio Set". Give your Audio Set a Title (My favorite songs, songs from the '70, etc.). Fill in the description box. Select who this album will be viewable by. Then select - Create Album. ***Only click create album once****. Then go back to My Account and select the Audio set you just created to start adding audio files. Once you have created an audio set you can always add or delete audio in this album.
13. Adding audio - We only accept one song or audio clip at a time. To add an audio, you must create an audio set first. See the above answer #12 for how to create an audio set. Once you have created an audio set - go to "my account" page - Click on the name of the audio set you created - Scroll down the page till you see "Add new audio" - click the "browse" button and find your audio on your computer or CD - Once selected, the audio will begin uploading automatically. *** Once the upload proccess is complete the audio file will appear at the bottom of this screen. DO NOT move away from this page until the audio file appears or the process will not be completed.
14. Video Sets - Go to "My Account" page - Click on "New Video Set". Give your Video Set a Title (Funny videos, My kids, etc.). Fill in the description box. Select who this album will be viewable by. Then select - Create Album. ***Only click create album once****. Then go back to My Account and select the Video set you just created to start adding video files. Once you have created an video set you can always add or delete audio in this album.
15. Adding video Files - To add a video, you must create an video set first. See the above answer #14 for how to create a video set.
You can add any video that is on YouTube. Go to YouTube.com and find the video you want to add - Beneath the video is "Share" - Click "Share" - Copy the code that is in the box under "Copy & paste this link into an email or instant message"
Go to Our-social and login - Click on the name of the video set you created - Scroll down the page till you see URL http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=
In the box, ONLY put the characters after the v=
Then click "Add video"
16. Import addresses from your e-mail server address book - Go to "My Account" page - Under address book go to Manage Contacts. Then click where it says "click here to import addresses". You will then need to give your e-mail address and password (don't worry this is not stored anywhere). Once you do this all you e-mail addresses will be copied in your our-social address book.
17. Invite Friends to join - Go to "My Account" page - Under address book click "Invite friends to join" - There is a drop down menu with your friends name and e-mail address - Select the person you want to send an invitation to then click "Send Invitation"
This functions only works once you have imported your address book from your e-mail server or you have added some addresses in your address book. ***Because will be sending an invitation letter with your name on it, it is important that you have your real name in your profile. Be sure and check this - go to edit profile and check for your real name***
18. Message center - Your messages from another member will be on your "my account" page under messages. Click on the members name and the full message will appear.
19. Friends request - Will be on your "my account" page under Friendship request. If you have a friend request the members name will appear - click on their name and approve or decline their friendship.
20. My friends - Will be on your "my account" page under Friends request - click "my friends" and a list of all of your friends will appear. If there is someone you no longer wish to be friends with - click "delete" under their picture.
21. Post a comment - Go to someones page - In the center of someone's profile page is the "about me", "latest blogs" and "comment - comment cards". To post a comment about their Blog Post - go the area below the blog post and look for the yellow box - type in your message and when you are through click "post comment". Please only use this area for comments in regards to their blog post. If you would like to send a comment that does not pertain to their blog post, go to the area under "Comment -Comment cards" and type your message in the yellow box. Once a comment is added, this member will recieve an e-mail notification that they have a new comment from you.
22. Comment cards - You may send yourself or anyone else a comment card. To send a comment card go to someone's profile page and in the center below "latest blogs" look for "comment- comment cards" . Where it says "You may enter a comment below. Click here to submit a comment card instead." Click on the "Click here". Once you do this you will see a link to the approved comment cards sites (Girly tags, Christian Glitter, Comment Live and Dazzle Junction) Click on the link to one of these sites and find the comment card you like. Once you find the comment card you like, copy the code and close or minimize the window to that site. Then past the code in the box and click "post comment". If you would like to send a message along with the card, type your message before or after the code of the comment card. Once a comment card is added, this member will recieve an e-mail notification that they have a new comment card from you.
23. Request a friendship - Go to someone's page - On the left side of their page under "Friends" is a "Request Friendship" - click "request friendship". What is great about this feature is once you and your friends have made a friendship, all you have to do is click on their picture and it will take you to their page. ***Once you request a friendship and it is accepted, your picture will be on their page and their picture will be on your page****
24. Send a Private Message/Contact a member - Go to someone's page - On the left side click "Contact me".
25. Forum - To go to the forum click "Forum" at the top of the screen. The forum is for members only. If you are logged into Our-Social, you will automatically be logged into the forum. If you have never used a forum, I highly recommend you go to the forum and click FAQ at the top of the forum

What is Comment Cards? Comment cards are small graphics that you can send to a member or yourself. When you send someone a comment card you can also add a message with the card. To read about sending comment cards, read answer #22.
Can I use a picture of something other than myself for a profile picture? Yes. If you don't have a picture of yourself or don't want to use one of yourself, then why not find an image that expresses your personality. How do I submit a video that I created? Since we only accept videos that are on Youtube.com, you will need to upload your video to youtube.com. Here is the instructions page for uploading a video to Youtube.com http://www.google.com/support/youtube/bin/topic.py?topic=10524. Once the video is on youtube.com you can then use it on our-social.com.
My pictures are not showing up in my photo album. How do I check them to make sure they are in the correct format? The picture files must be a JPG, JPEG, GIF, or PNG and under 2MB in size. To check the type of files and size do this: Windows: right-click the file and select "Properties". A new window will open and show you the size and type of the file. Macintosh: click on the file once and press Apple+i. A new window will open and show you the size and type of the file. If you have a photo editing software, you should be able to change the file size and type of the picture. If you continue to have trouble, send the photo(s) to oursocial@aol.com and we will try to optimize the photo(s) for your resubmission.
